Dear Sunset Students and Families,

Welcome to Sunset High School! We are excited to have you as part of our school community.

Sunset is a small, student-centered high school where relationships matter. Our size gives us the opportunity to know our students, understand what they need, and provide support that may look a little different for each person. At Sunset, students are known, supported, and encouraged to be an active part of their education.

Students have access to smaller classes, individualized support, hands-on learning, independent study opportunities, targeted tutoring, and programs and experiences that connect learning to life outside of the classroom.

Our goal is to help every student make progress toward graduation while also preparing for what comes next. For some students, that may be college or trade school. For others, it may be the military, entering the workforce, or finding a completely different path. Success doesn't look exactly the same for everyone, and we want our students to have the skills and confidence to figure out what their next step will be.

At Sunset, we have three simple expectations:

Be Safe.
Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.

These expectations apply to everyone on our campus. We believe students do their best when they feel welcome, respected, supported, and also held accountable.

Sunset is also a place for fresh starts. High school doesn't always go exactly as planned, and there are many different reasons students find their way to us. What matters is where you go from here. Our staff will work alongside you, encourage you, and help you continue moving toward your goals.

We are proud of the relationships that have always been such an important part of Sunset. Students and families are encouraged to communicate with our teachers, staff, and administration, ask questions, and reach out when support is needed.

Most importantly, we want our students to know that they belong here. You are not just a number at Sunset. You are part of a school community that wants to see you succeed.
